“The Girl Rush” doesn’t have anything to do with “Wonderful Town” other than the fact that Rosalind Russell starred in both. She did “Wonderful Town” on Broadway, which was a musical version of “My Sister Eileen”. “The Girl Rush” was a totally different vehicle, but was her first movie musical.
