If it finds a Region code that is not compatible with your players region lock then it will not play. If the DVD inserted has the right region then it will play, however it is not necessary for a DVD to have Region Code on it to play.
If the DVD does not have a Region code on it ( Region 0 or ALL REGION) then the DVD player treats the DVD as playable and it will play on any DVD in any country in the world.
