The True story of Stephen Walls, a young Australian farm boy, whose disappearance galvanized a continent into action. Taught to be wary of strangers, the boy cannot know that the boisterous hordes of volunteers are his saviors and not his enemies. After four tense days, hopes wanes. At last, a group of searchers spot the young Stephen, and its members are able to convice him that they want to help him reach home and family.
The disappearance of Steven Walls in 1960 provided the inspiration for the song ‘Little Boy Lost’ composed and first sung by Johnny Ashcroft in 1960. The song was a top-of-the-pops hit in Australia in that year of 1960. Apparently, Ashcroft wrote the song from a lyric idea given to him by disc-jockey Tony Withers. This film shares the same title as this song and both song and film are derived from the famous disappearance. For this film, Ashcroft actually recorded a new mix version of the song as well as some other vocal compositions.
