Candy magnate and car nut Michael Bannon (Michael Sarrazin) gathered an eccentric pack of fellow motorheads in a Manhattan garage, and laid down a challenge: See who’d be the first to finish a clandestine cross-country race to Los Angeles, with no speed limits-and no rules.
